The other day my dad came over to pick up some paperwork from me, and during the few minutes he was there, the girls piled in on him. Anna immediately gave hugs, Kaitlyn started showing things off, and once he sat down, Anna ran and got a book for him to read to her. While she happily sat in his lap and pointed to things, and talked (yes, talked!!! She actually repeated words and pointed things out and said them out loud!!! This is unheard of!) Kaitlyn proceeded to make them both nice and cozy with a ridiculous assortment of blankets, scarves, towels, etc.
They were a very happy trio. The girls love their Grandpa Dave, and they know that grandpa's are suckers for cute girls and will always join in. I was so grateful that in the midst of our talking about properties and money and maintenance and business concerns, that these little ones were truly just happy to be with people that they love. I am so grateful for the joy and perspective my family brings to me.
