For starters, we have this cute little guy running around, giving us this ridiculous grin when he wants us to share food with him (who needs to talk when you've got a face like this?).
Busy-ness also leads to a lack of proper naps which leads to falling asleep at the dinner table...
We have finally begun the oft-put-off project of putting a bathroom in the basement. Which has turned into an even bigger project then we thought, which only justifies our putting it off as long as we have...
But it is progressing! Here is the floor after being jackhammered and dug out to put in the pump.
and the beautiful sight of all the plumbing in place! (yeah, pretty ugly, huh?)
and finally we have all the framing in! My incredibly kind father has come over multiple evenings to help me jigsaw all of this together. I am so blessed to have him and am so lucky to be learning from him!
This guy has been a good sport through it all. He mostly just keeps giggling and grinning as he is dragged along for the ride.
He puts up with a lot. It's hard being too little for many things but old enough to know you might be missing out. Who can blame him for giving us this face?
Richard is in his happy place as campaign season is upon us. This pic is from when he took me on a tour of the capital (my first time. seriously.). He is currently running campaigns for 3 candidates in our area and is involved in many more. Luckily, all this work gives us a chance to work together and spend a little time together as I am his resident graphic designer. He is keeping me busy. Also luckily enough, we are working with people we really like and support.
Kaitlyn has been involved in a million things at school. She loved being on a Battle of the Books team and did really well- that girl loves to read! She also got to be on one of her schools knowledge bowl teams and had a fun Saturday playing with friends, gaining some confidence, and learning how much she still has to learn about science ;) A good experience.
The girls and I (and Richard as I ended up sick one weekend) also sold Girl Scout Cookies at few cookie booths. Kaitlyn is the ultimate customer service girl. She has no problem talking to people, answering their questions, giving correct change, and politely thanking them and wishing them a nice day or encouraging them to enjoy their cookies.
Anna is the girl to have around when you need to attract customers. She is our best caller- she is like the energizer bunny and will call out "cookies for sale," over and over. She comes up with chants and cheers and works so hard that she is frankly irresistible. We sold a lot of cookies with our troop and have so many fun plans for the upcoming year! Way to go my girls!
Anna took these pictures of our gorgeously overachieving apricot tree, popping its little heart out. I have been enjoying these snowy blossoms for weeks! (including a couple days where there was actual snow on them) Hopefully this helps you feel more connected to us. Spring is here and we are doing our best to bloom where we have been planted.
