Richard, Susan, and the kidlings: David's 1st Birthday

My baby just turned 1. I can't believe that he was born an entire year ago! I also can't believe we've only had him as a part of our family for 1 year. I love this sweet little boy. He loves to crawl, is ok to walk with a little help, and really loves to climb. He is determined to explore and more than that, he is determined to figure out how things work. He will open drawers, close them, empty them, fill them, try to climb in, try to see underneath, taste them, wiggle them, etc, etc. He is also super sweet and loves to give kisses, rasberries, hug, wave, blow kisses, and say 'Hi." He loves people and is very friendly and smiley. Oh, and ridiculously ticklish too, so we get to see his cute smile lots and lots! He loves playing with his sisters and has a very special attachment to Kaitlyn. We can't imagine life without our little Dude. I love this boy!

We had a birthday party for him and invited all the Grandparents to come and celebrate with us.

He happily crawled over to say hi to a couple of his Grandma's!

This boy loves to eat, and we served him his favorite, a hotdog, that he rapidly and happily inhaled along with some cheetos and jello (hey, it's his birthday!)

We then brought out the traditional little cake, just for the 1 year old!

He was not impressed. He poked at the blue frosting and stared at us like we were crazy.

We tried cutting it open for him, so he could see what it was, but he was still unimpressed. He tried a couple of bites and was done. I figured that of all the kids, he would be the one to pile in and eat it all. Nope. He was very unimpressed and just tried to crawl out of his chair to get more of Grandma Carols jello. Funny!!

and as you can see, his sisters let him play with them a little bit. But just because they had to. He loved this ball machine and happily carried around a ball in each hand for the rest of the day.
