David's 5th Birthday

My best boy David is 5! He happily counted down the days to his birthday using the calendar from his school- he couldn't believe that it was finally going to be HIS birthday! He wanted to go to "old Mcdonalds" for dinner and have his sisters get a toy too "because then everyone will be happy." We adore this sweet boy.
He got to have his first friend party and wanted to have a "Good Dinosaur" party. He helped plan everything- we focused on doing some of his favorite things.
We started off by playing a hand game called "down by the banks" but which David calls "ker-plop" (the girls scouts play this all the time and David was dying to be able to play it!) It didn't take long for these cute little ones to pick it up and they loved it!
Each kid got a special dinosaur bag and got to go on a  hunt for their own dinosaur eggs.
Each egg contained a little dinosaur.  David was so happy to get Arlo!
Then of course David wanted everyone to wear a birthday party hat!  This boy loves traditions!
Tiny cupcakes with Dinosaurs on top to go with the Arlo cups and napkins David picked out.

One of David's favorite things is to build with clay so everyone got some clay to get footprints (and whole body imprints!) of their dinosaurs.  It was a hit!  Seriously though, can you go wrong playing with playdo?   David was completely satisfied with everything at his party so was a very happy birthday boy!

And then we got to celebrate again with a family party!  Unfortunately David ended up with an ear infection and was dragging.

Can you see it in that sweet, swollen face and red rimmed eyes?  He wasn't feeling good :(  Luckily he perked up enough to get his cupcake and open his presents though!

He was so excited about all the presents he got- they were the perfect and very thoughtful gifts from his grandparents and family.  I especially loved wrapping up a certain dinosaur....  David couldn't take his eyes off it of once it appeared all wrapped up like this! David is currently sleeping with this cute Arlo (and Puppee of course!  They are good friends!)

We are so blessed to have this sweet spirited boy as part of our family.  He has the biggest smile and gives the best hugs. He is so sincere and just so likable. His tender heart can also be easily upset and worried. He likes things done the right way and can be very methodical.  His favorite animal is a dog and he chooses red in everything unless BYU is involved :) He is a full fledged BYU Cougar fan.  He enjoys school and has gotten really good at knowing all his letters and sounds.  He also likes cars, dinosaurs, Clifford, Legos, angry birds, and playing with his siblings and friends. He is excited for life.
