For Spring Break we took a trip to Goblin Valley. And LOVED it. This was my favorite place to go growing up, and I can't believe we hadn't taken our kids till now! Did I mention we LOVED it?
Kaitlyn tried to climb everything and had the time of her life. She loved to lead us through the "Mushroom forest." She also managed to spot a little lizard. During the drive she read book after book- to herself and to David and Anna. I love hearing her read and knowing she loves it.
After some practice, Anna figured out that she could climb too and proceeded to follow Kaitlyn almost everywhere-though she loved being "Daddy's buddy." Her sweet voice of encouragement always helped us hike and climb :) Anna also got pushed out of the bed 3 times (Roll over Bug!) during the night at the hotel, but got up and climbed back in without any complaint. Sweet thing.
David was such a happy boy. He would call out "Rock, rock!" almost constantly in the valley and periodically run up to big boulders to give them hugs. He just wanted to be on top of everything he saw.
My favorite part of the trip was seeing everyone's grinning faces the entire time and never hearing one word of complaint the entire time we were there in the valley! Those happy kids walked for hours and hours and would have stayed longer if we had let them :) And getting to swim in the pool at the hotel afterwards? A kid's spring break dreams come true. We will be going back soon!
