We had an absolutely marvelous time going to St. George and Bryce Canyon last week! Richard had to go down to St. George and teach a couple of workshops and we decided to tag along-thanks to University of Phoenix once again! It was so nice to head down to Southern Utah to play in the dirt. I have so many good memories of family trips growing up going to places like this, I was so excited to take my girls! But first, we happily played in St. George, going shopping, swimming, hanging out in the hotel room (which the girls loved, especially as it had a great view of the temple), walking around the temple (Kaitlyn was asleep for this, even though she had been talking about seeing the temple for days) and eating out (golden corral was Kaitlyns favorite-I can't believe how much food she ate! And she was free...)

And then we were off to Bryce Canyon! We made it! And it happened to be one of the weekends that was free this summer, so we didn't even have to pay to get in! Extra bonus!
We took the girls on a couple of hikes (I love this picture!) which they loved. Anna loves the backpack and Bug loved to pick up and carry sticks and put rocks in her pockets. 
Now, Kaitlyn brought George on the trip as usual, and he was a great buddy. She was determined to show him all the beautiful orange and white mountains and caves so we let her take him to a few of the overlooks (she would have carried him everywhere if we had let her!) Pretty amazing, isn't it George.
Anna of course brought Baby George along on the trip too (its her favorite toy) but he only got to see things from the car. 
Kaitlyn also loved seeing the animals around, including squirrels and this huge Raven that landed right in front of us. She thought it was so cool that it came to say hi to her and was always looking for them when she heard them caw-ing. 
The only way to get Bug to empty her pockets of all the "perfect" rocks she had collected was to get her to throw them in the water (it was a good thing we saved the waterfall hike for last!) She will love doing this at the Weber this year!
We of course checked out the visitor center and bug loved the little museum-she made us take her through at least 10 times and she would point out all the animals, touch the rocks, and of course ride this horse. 
Anna got her chance on a horse when we stopped at Rubys inn. Ride-um Cow Girls!
The next day started out Rainy and a little cold so we cut back our plans a little but still hit the rest of the overlooks-the girls were still very happy!
Bryce Canyon really is gorgeous! All in all, a very good trip, with very good girls. We are ready for more adventures this summer and know the girls will love it!
We will be back again some day!
