Anna's Preschool Graduation

Anna finished preschool this week. She loves school-everything about it.  She loves her friends, loves to go "fishing" for activities, loves singing, loves dancing, loves karate, loves all the little songs they sing about numbers, letters, etc, loves show and tell on Fridays, and really, really loves her teachers.  She has never not wanted to go to school. She always runs into her classroom with a big smile on her face and is greeted by hugs and a "hello princess," or "hello beautiful," from her teacher Miss Honey (is that not a perfect name for a preschool teacher?).  Everyday she leaves her class giggling and grinning and often skipping happily on her way.  It is amazing what a good teacher can do for a kid.

Anna's final Performance and Graduation were on Friday. I had been getting tidbits and hearing the songs they were practicing for a few weeks, but was blown away but how utterly sweet and cute these kids were. Oh yes, I was a proud mom.

They started out with a Karate demonstration and showed their new orange belts they had earned.  Kyosanim Vicki, Anna's teacher, is so good with these kids.  They attentively listen to everything she says.  She had the entire class of wiggly 4 year olds sitting, eyes closed, silently meditating on the stage.  They jumped into their positions when told.  They showed off their bows and snapkicks (so cutely awkward!) and finished up by breaking their first board. Anna was seriously proud to show off her broken board and reenact breaking it over and over when we got home.

 The kids then changed into their costumes.  Aren't those poodle skirts killer?  And the boy's bowling shirts and glasses?  They were rocking it.

 This is a classic Anna look.  Love it!  She danced with her partner to "Rockin Robin."  This was the part she was most excited about showing us.  She kept telling me about how she was dreaming about this dance and doing the spin in/spin out part with her partner Kai.

 Anna had the girl's last song, "when I have a brand new hairdo..." down pat- with actions and attitude.  We have the video to prove it :)

And here she is with her teacher Miss Honey.  We are going to miss her!!  But, due to an annoying calendar quirk, Anna will be attending Kindergarten at this same school.  So she will have the same dance and karate teachers and still be able to say Hi to Miss Honey across the hall :)  I am so grateful for my kids teachers!!!  Congrats Anna!
