Christmas

We had an absolutely wonderful Christmas, the best one ever. We got to spend time with my parents and family on Christmas Eve with the kids acting out the christmas story and opening up presents. Then we came home to open up our gifts to each other and spent Christmas morning at home before packing up to be with Richards family on Christmas day. We seemed to be able to do it all and savor and enjoy all the family this year. Perfect.

David loved the crinkly packages and tearing (and eating) the paper, and his sisters were very happy to help him open his gifts too.

I've been wanting to wrap this baby up in this special quilt since before he was born. I finally managed to finish it and have loved snuggling him in it. He likes it too.

Kaitlyn and Anna got each other Strawberry Shortcake dolls and were thrilled to finally have them opened to play with. Since she wrapped Bug's doll, Anna has repeatedly told Kaitlyn what it is and how much she was going to like it once she opened it up :) I guess it was all too exciting to keep a secret! Kaitlyn would reassure us all that she could forget what it was and be surprised.

The three kids all wrapped up in their special, super cozy, quilts they got for christmas. The girls got to pick out the squares they wanted in their quilts, but never saw the quilts in progress so it was mostly a surprise :) They love them, use them, and we have had endless ispy games with them. Happy kids and a very happy mommy.

Here we all are on Christmas morning, in our new Jammies, ready to see what Santa left for us! There is nothing like seeing the excitement and joy from your own kids at Christmas time.

What a wonderful Christmas. We couldn't have asked for anything different (except maybe a little snow). We were given so many great and thoughtful gifts this year from friends and family. We are always amazed and the thoughfulness and generosity that is shown us at Christmastime. And a special kudos to my wonderful, thoughtful, husband for his myriad of gifts to me which included everything from my favorite toothpaste, to a gift card to Joanns, to new pots and pans, to books and a few things in between! He knows me well. I love my family and am so grateful for the chance we had to spend such a wonderful time together!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas too!
